Over the past decade I have written and published a number of books which showcase my research and presentation skills. In particular, in 2018 I self-published a source booklet relating to a family from the Outer Hebrides, Scotland, whilst in 2020, I self-published (through a successful Kickstarter project) two more related booklets. All three publications have been well received, with sales in Scotland, Canada, the USA, and Australia.
These were favourably reviewed by Ronald Black (retired Senior Lecturer in Celtic at the University of Edinburgh) in the highly regarded journal West Highland Notes & Queries (March 2021). Excerpts from his review comment that these are:
"...three short but beautifully produced books...the traditions are fascinating, and cover the seventeenth, eighteenth and nineteenth centuries...a work of considerable scholarship...these three books constitute a model of Highland genealogical research, and it is particularly satisfying to note the rich rewards that can be gained by focusing upon an unusual forename."
If any or all of these publications are of interest to you, please contact me to purchase PDFs (my stock of hard copies having sold out*). Each title costs £7, with the set of three being £18.
* It may still be possible to purchase hard copies of the Melbost booklet from
Urras Eaglais na h-Aoidhe, and the Garrabost booklet from The Garrabost Mill Trust.
