William helped me try to trace my 2nd-great-grandmother, whom I've longed to learn more about for many years, but who had proven elusive to me as a casual, novice researcher. His communications were timely, providing clear information and requirements. I've been thoroughly impressed and grateful for his knowledge, professionalism and diligent research. William paid a very welcome visit to North Gosforth WI with his talk 'Genealogy from Postcards'. What a super evening we had!  Both those members who, like William, are obsessed with tracing their family tree, and those who had 'never got round to doing it', were fascinated by the story which unfolded in front of us.

He explained how to use the many sources available to discover our ancestors and, were I not one of those obsessed, I would be reaching for a notebook and pencil and logging on to find our more about my past!

William delivered a fascinating talk to our WI in January 2023. His warmth, enthusiasm and expertise captivated his audience and encouraged us all to embark on our very own genealogical journeys!

The journey of discovering more of my family tree has been an emotional rollercoaster, but one that I'm extremely glad I had William navigating. He was very communicative with me and not once did I ever have to chase him for an update. He was transparent and informative throughout the whole process and when he found information of an upsetting nature pertaining to some of my ancestors, he consulted me at every turn and was respectful of all my wishes, without question or comment. The report he delivered to me possessed a detail far beyond what I was expecting, especially when getting information from over one hundred years ago. I cannot recommend him enough and he would definitely be my first port of call should I wish to look into any of my other ancestral lines.
